Reziproke Verflechtungen: Queere Ökologien, Ökosysteme und mehr-als-menschliche Intimitäten
with Prof. Dr. Friederike Nastold

Prof. Dr. Friederike Nastold situates Trevor Yeung’s artistic practice within the field of queering ecologies – a theoretical approach that enables a critical examination of dominant human–environment relations. Central to this perspective are questions of sexuality, nature, politics, and desire, including exploitative dynamics between humans and nature as well as issues related to climate change and practices of care. At the same time, the lecture envisions pleasurable modes of coexistence between human and more-than-human actors.
Friederike Nastold is Junior Professor of Art History with a focus on Gender Studies at Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg and Deputy Director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Women’s and Gender Studies. Her work addresses queer/feminist and postcolonial perspectives in art history. Her research focuses include art- and cultural-historical gender studies, performance art, affect and queer theory, porn studies, and queer ecologies. She also serves on the board of the Gender Studies Association and is spokesperson of the working group Queering Visuelle Kulturen und Intermedialität.
