Artist Talk

Ahead of the public opening of the exhibition Potentialities, the Kestner Gesellschaft invites audiences to an Artist Talk with Richard Hawkins and Vienna-based art historian Christian Liclair on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 6 pm.

Between fandom and fetish, Richard Hawkins connects the Old Masters of art history with the young stars of the internet, pairing Bonnard with BelAmi, Forrest Bess with pop icons and porn stars, and weaving desire into the annals of art history. In conversation, Hawkins and Christian Liclair will delve into their visual obsessions, ranging from ecstatic visions and fanatical research to the feverish pleasures of painting.

The talk will be held in English at Hochhaus-Lichtspiele,Goseriede 9, 30159 Hannover, directly next to the Kestner Gesellschaft.
