It’s that time again! The next kids‘ vernissage is just around the corner!
The Kestner Gesellschaft opens the exhibition Potentialities by Richard Hawkins.
On Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 3 pm, the celebration begins: families with children aged 3 and up are warmly invited as our very first guests. Young art explorers can take part in exciting hands-on activities. Using images, colorful templates, and wild strokes of paint—and inspired by Hawkins’ Haunted Dollhouses—they will create their very own ghost houses.
In the creative activity “Body Magic”, guided by a dance educator, children can explore their inner world through playful and movement-based exercises. The youngest participants can paint whimsical brushworks on canvas, while families can discover Richard Hawkins’ works through an interactive gallery tour.

Playing and creating together is at the heart of the event!
The children’s preview marks the start of our diverse art education program, which continues with workshops throughout the exhibition, from April 24 to August 2, 2026.
