The Kestner Gesellschaft is proud to present the new artist's book by Paloma Varga Weisz: Multiface, published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name (2024/25) at the Kestner Gesellschaft, Hannover.

Multiface stands for the richness of facets, the multiperspectivity and the poetic quality in the artist's work. The title refers to a sculpture of the same name by Paloma Varga Weisz from 2018: a many-faced, silvered head made of fine lime wood that gazes in all directions — a condensation of that ambivalence of the human condition which runs throughout her entire body of work. The term derives from the English "multifaceted": manifold, varied and diverse.

The artist's book brings together numerous sculptures, ceramics, watercolours and drawings from different creative phases in dialogue with personal photographs and historical visual material — all composed into a sequence of pages by Paloma Varga Weisz herself. This juxtaposition offers special insights into her work of the past three decades and consistently carries the multiperspectivity of the exhibition over into book form. The publication was created in very close collaboration with the artist.

Following the catalogue launch, the publication can be purchased on site at a reduced price. The artist will be happy to sign copies of the catalogue. Wine and snacks will be served.

The new artist's book has already been released in bookshops and is available at a reduced price at the Kestner Gesellschaft from now on.
