Finissage

To conclude its spring program, the Kestner Gesellschaft warmly invites you to the finissage of the exhibitions Cue the Cue , The Rivers They Don’t See , and Don’t Let Them Shoot the Kite . Visitors can look forward to exhibition tours with the curators and art educators involved, as well as a saz concert by musicians from Can Arkadaş e. V.

In Cue the Cue , Jack O’Brien explores notions of staging, queer identity, and representations of the body within the context of consumerism and performance. In The Rivers They Don’t See , Som Supaparinya addresses the political and ecological significance of Southeast Asia’s rivers in light of colonial interventions and “green” energy policies. Göksu Kunak’s Don’t Let Them Shoot the Kite connects migrant life realities with historical archival images and current political questions — an installation about belonging, visibility, and remembrance.

The space Passage , designed by Assaf Kimmel, will remain in place: it links art education, archival work, and public engagement. The space offers access to documents, editions, and artistic interventions from the history of the Kestner Gesellschaft.
