On the occasion of the exhibition "Ericka Beckman | Fair Game", French art historian, curator and author Marie de Burgerolle addresses the question of post-performativity in the work of Ericka Beckman, which is characterized by the use of objects, sets and animated figures. De Brugerolle is interested in the merging of video art and performance in California in the early 1970s and talks about key figures and companions in dialogue with Ericka Beckman's work, such as John Baldessari, Guy de Cointet, and Mike Kelley.

Marie de Brugerolle is an art historian, curator and writer, and founder of Post Performance Future (2012-2022), which explores the impact of performance on the visual arts in a post-media context. As a curator, she has worked at the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris (FR), the Museum of Modern Art in New York (USA), Le MAGASIN - Centre National d'Arts et de Cultures in Grenoble (FR), Palais de Tokyo Paris (FR), Tate Modern, London (GB). Her work focuses on the history of performance art, from the 1960s to its current state of dematerialization and appropriation by the society of the spectacle. She is the leading expert on the French-born Californian artist Guy de Cointet and has been instrumental in bringing Californian art to Europe (first retrospectives of Allen Ruppersberg (1996), Guy de Cointet (2004), John Baldessari (2005) and Larry Bell (2010)). Her current and upcoming exhibitions are REVERSE UNIVERSE, a two-exhibition project with Luigi Serafini and Than Hussein Clark (CRAC-Sète, France October 2020-September 2021); MILES at Villa Arson Nice (June 2021-January 2022); and Post-Performance Video, Prospective 1: Los Angeles (Carré d'art Musée Nîmes, December 2020-April 2022). Cassoni: Peintures-Boîtes, at Galerie Anne Barrault, Paris (February-March 2022).

Marie de Brugerolle is represented with a text in the catalog for the exhibition "Ericka Beckman | Fair Game" (2021).
