Talk with Martina Glomb
From 'New Romantics' to the new romanticism: Nature and lifestyle in fashion

Fashion designer Martina Glomb (* 1960 in Bremen) talks with Julia Meier about her experimental design processes in fashion and establishes a connection to the exhibition by Nicolas Party. These take her back to the late1980s, when she lived in London as a longtime assistant to fashion designer Vivienne Westwood and was involved in the city's nightclub scene. The lifestyle and zeitgeist of many well-known musicians and artists, especially the 'New Romantics' - a youth movement that split from punk and included bands such as Adam and the Ants, Visage, and Bow Wow Wow - continue to act as inspiration for her own current understanding of fashion, in which nature and romance are reinterpreted.
