On dealing with non-European objects in German collections

In the current exhibition "ART ⇆ CRAFTS" we present works by the artist Antje Majewski and the artist Olivier Guesselé-Garai, among others. In their work, both deal with the relationship between non-European art and European modernism, as well as questions of restitution. This much debated topic is also on the mind of Dr. Claudia Andratschke, head of collections at the Landesmuseum Hannover and expert in provenance research, and Bianca Baumann, who is researching objects from Cameroon at the Landesmuseum. In their lecture they present their working practice and report on how they deal with the complex issues relating to the return of objects from German collections. We then invite you to a discussion.
