In the framework of the first public exhibition of the collection of Japanese scroll paintings under the title A World of Dew, and in Every Drop of Dew a World of Struggle, we invite to a conversation of the economist and founder of the Hackerodt Art and Culture Foundation, Dr. Christiane Hackerodt, the journalist, curator and university professor Wilfried Köpke, and the director of the Kestner Gesellschaft Adam Budak. The discussion will focus on the integration of historical works into an art collection with a modernist orientation, on the fundamental importance of art collections and their presentation, as well as on the relevance of mediation between different artistic traditions and the special nature of traditional Japanese scroll paintings.

Christiane Hackerodt studied economics at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, where she earned her doctorate with a comparative analysis of derivative financial instruments between the USA, Japan and Switzerland. Since 1990, she has been active in the management of the Hackerodt Unternehmensgruppe. In 2013, she established the Dr. Christiane Hackerodt Kunst- und Kulturstiftung, which she represents as a board member. The foundation provides international support for both young and established artists in the visual arts who are exploring new ways of artistic reality and supports cultural projects in the foundation's content focus.
